Dear Brothers and
Sisters in Christ,
Another month has
come and gone, and we are still looking for the coming of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. It is not because we are
selfish and want to escape from our responsibility in this world as God’s
ambassadors, but because we want to see Jesus! < /SPAN>Oh, what a day that will
be! We are thankful that we can be sure
that God has called us out of darkness and into His Light, and that we are safe
and secure in His strong arms.
Well, I do have
some news regarding our move to Decatur,
AL. We are somewhat closer to the day when we can
set the date of the move. The Lord
blessed in that both cars have sold in the last couple weeks, after two months
of advertising. The house has four or
five parties which are seeking financing, so that they can buy our home. Maybe this week or next we will hear
something. After the property is sold, it
will take a month or so to get all packed and loaded into a container and say
our goodbyes. We covet your prayers as
we make this big move. God is our guide
and we trust as He leads us one step at a time.
I know the Lord will provide our needs as we get set up in a different
church family, home, and city.
Last weekend we
were in the capital city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras and preached for the Baptist Church
in the area of La Pradera, its pastor being Bro. Leví Ríos. We
traveled on Saturday and I preached there that night and again on Sunday
morning. One of the main reasons for
this trip was to deliver the Risograph printing
machine which was given for the literature ministry in Honduras. Recently a folding machine was sent to us by Grace Baptist
Church in Florence, KY
and Pastor Wilbert
Ellis. With their permission, we took the folder to
leave it with Bro.
Ríos, also. To te
ach him and three other brothers how to use the machines, we printed the book
by Bro. Doyal Thomas, “God Has Ordained Headship.” Bro. Ríos
said, “I like this kind of printing!”
I also preached
this past month in the mission work in Jesús de
Otoro. Sovereign
God Baptist
Church has voted to continue on with
the authority for this work, when we change our membership to Philadelphia Baptist
Church in Alabama.
I also preached many times this month in Sovereign God
Baptist Church,
for which we thank the Lord. The Lord
blessed this month with the public profession of faith of one of our young
teenagers who has been coming to church for ove r six
years. She and her sister are blessings
to the church. And I pray for their
spiritual growth.
There are needs
which remain in Honduras
as we leave, and I trust that the Lord will supply. I know that you have read this in other
reports, but another $2500 is still needed for construction of the church
building of the Baptist Church in Llanos de Sula, San Pedro Sula. The pastor of this church is my son in the
Lord from the village
of Rio Esteban, Bro. Nerlin Palacios.
Please pray for this need, and I pray that our Lord will move a couple
of churches to help out.
Thank you all for
your prayers for Sylvia and me as we
make this emotional, God directed move to the USA. I’m sure that it will be a bit of culture
shock for both of us. The Lord has
always taken care of our needs, and I’m confident that He will prepare us for
what lies ahead. Thanks for the years of
prayers and faithful support for the mission work, as well as for Sylvia and me.
I will close for now and trust you all will have a wonderful Lord’s Day.
Your brother in Christ,
Ted Tweet
