Dear Friends,

Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” This is a very accurate description of the day in which we live. Even people who profess faith in Christ will tell you that if it feels good do it. The fact is sometimes feelings and God’s Word does not go together. It may feel good for a season to experience lust, and fulfill the sinful desires of our flesh but, the cold hard facts are that we reap what we sow. Just ask King David what he reaped as a result of his sin with Bathsheba. I am afraid we as a nation are starting to reap what we have sown because of our self indulgent, attitudes and lifestyles. While there is nothing wrong with having nice things, there is much wrong with nice things having us and controlling us in our service rendered to God.

We have been busy sowing the gospel seed in Nancy and the surrounding area. We have knocked on several doors and revisited some that we have knocked on before. Some promise that they will come and others politely shrug us off but, God’s glorious gospel is none the less proclaimed. The first three weeks of April have been kind of slow and down with sickness spreading about the congregation. However, the last Sunday of the month was a time of special blessing. We had eleven first time visitors on this day!!!!! We had four Sunday morning and seven more Sunday afternoon after our lunch. What a blessing it was to our people. Seven of these came as a direct result of me subbing at Somerset Christian School. It is funny how none of the people we have knocked on their doors have come. I have thought over the years as I have seen this time and time again that God is telling us, “you be faithful to do what you are supposed to do and I will bless your efforts in such a way that you will see that I am the one who is doing the blessing.” Our service totals Sunday morning was eighteen and our totals Sunday afternoon were twenty four.

We have been concerned for a while that we have no children besides Zechariah and we have been praying that God would give us some young people. The Sunday I am speaking of we had five children (counting Zechariah) ranging in age from 4-15 years old. I have learned over the course of my ministry if you want to reach the parents then minister to the kids. If you want to reach the children minister to the parents and go where they are. Please pray for us as we minister to the families in our area. We continue to hear people that listen to our radio ads and we get positive feed back. We have not had a visitor as a result of this but; the gospel continues to go out for the glory of God.

Remember our services the Lord willing on Memorial Day Weekend. We will be having special services with Brother Todd Bryant from Northport, Alabama as well as Doug Tankersly, Donnie Burford, Clint Keith and Missionary to Thailand Gordon Downs. The services will start Friday night at 7 PM and then Saturday morning at 9:45 and then on Sunday morning starting at 10:30. If you can be here then please mark your calendars and come and be with us. We especially would love for those Churches that support this work to come and see who, what and where your support is going to.

Until next time,

Brother Troy, Terra and Zechariah McGahan
