Dear
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The
Tweets once again send greetings from this beautiful country of Honduras, Central America. We are so thankful for each and every one of
you and for your support for this work; whether it is financial help or
prayers, thanks so much.
This
month, I spent almost three weeks “HOME ALONE,” as my dear wife had to have
another pacemaker check up. When the
battery gets low, they want to check it every six months. Everything seems to be fine this time around,
but you would think that they could invent a solar panel, which could be hooked
up to her and recharge the battery. She
could get Vitamin-D at the same time!
I was
in Tegucigalpa
for five days preaching a revival meeting for the Iglesia Bautista de La Pradera pastored by Bro. Leví Ríos. Many lost
people were in attendance, and I do pray that God will open their hearts to the
Word. No one made a profession of faith
during the meeting, but we trust that the Word will have an effect on all who
attended the meeting. One Sunday
morning, I ministered in San Pedro Sula to the Iglesia Bautista de La Gran
Villa, and the Lord was pleased to give spiritual life to a young lady of 20 to
25 years of age. We all rejoiced with
her and her cousin, who is a member there.
Also, I was able to preach a few times in both the Iglesia Bautista
Dios Soberano in San
Pedro Sula and the Baptist
mission work in Jesús de Otoro. We are thankful to our Lord that we can see
Him working in His churches down here.
We
are so thankful for the response of Grace
Baptist Church
in Florence, KY and Pastor Wilbert Ellis
to our need of a paper folding machine.
They have purchased and sent us a very good one, and it is very much
appreciated.
Please
continue to pray for the calling of a national pastor to the Iglesia
Bautista Dios
Soberano
in San Pedro Sula. They have extended a call to Bro. Santos Crisanto, the assistant pastor of the Iglesia Bautista
Emanuel in Río Esteban,
who has worked for years in that church very faithfully. He has told us that if the Lord wills, and
all the details would work out with his family, he would accept the call to
this church.
There
are still monetary needs for some of the works.
I know times are hard in the USA, but the Lord still owns the
cattle on a thousand hills and supplies in His time. There are three projects that are at a
standstill. They are very much on my
mind every day, and once again I will let you know what is needed.
1. Iglesia Bautista
en Llanos de Sula in San Pedro Sula:
Walls are up, roof is on, sub-floor is poured, but flooring not purchased or
installed. Porch is built; Sunday School rooms are built, but not finished. Bathrooms are built, but are not finished;
wiring of the building is needed from electrical box on. Plaster on the walls in part, plus the need
to paint. What is needed here is an
estimated amount of $5000. We are so
happy that we have been able to get this building this far, and thanks for
those who have made it possible.
2. Baptist Mission Work in Jesús
de Otoro:
We thank the church in West Virginia
for sending the thousand dollars toward this need to build a small meeting
place, and $3000 - $4000 is still needed, which would be paid back by the owner
of the land within a year. I have spent
much time in this mission and, even though there are only two baptized members,
there are between twenty to thirty souls hearing the gospel of Jesus
Christ three times a week in this place. The owner is the lay preacher with me there,
Bro. Medardo Bautista.
3. Iglesia Bautista
Berea in Mexico: They were able to put on the third portion of the roof with
the money which came in for this project, but that has all been used up, and
they still lack a couple more sections, or about $2200 more.
I
continue to pray that God will lead us to make wise decisions for the work He
has in this country. I pray for His
direction in our lives, as we seek His will for the future. May God bless you all for your love and
commitment for mission work. Thanks so much for your prayers and support
for this endeavor for the Lord.
Your
brother in Christ, Ted Tweet
